All in the Details: Excessive Accessorization

This spring, I have been all about accessories. Rather than purchasing new clothes for my wardrobe, I've been on the hunt for new bags, belts, brooches, bangles, and more to elevate my looks. I truly believe that personal style isn’t about having more—it's about doing more with what you have. And this season, instead of chasing every trend, I’ve been focusing on styling what I already own in new, unexpected ways. Here are the standout pieces I’m loving right now—and the ones I think are worth the investment to elevate any wardrobe.
Belts
One accessory I’ve been reaching for more and more lately? Belts. And not just to hold up my pants—belts are having a major moment as outfit finishers. Whether it's a chunky leather belt cinched over a blazer or a thin animal print one layered on top of a simple dress, they add structure, dimension, and a little intentionality to an otherwise basic look.
I’ve been loving statement buckles, vintage-inspired hardware, and anything that adds a bit of drama. A belt can instantly transform the silhouette of an outfit—pulling in an oversized button-down at the waist or breaking up a monochrome look with a pop of texture or color. It’s the kind of accessory that does a lot with very little effort, and that’s my favorite kind of styling trick. Shop some of my picks below!
Brooches
If there’s one accessory that’s quietly stealing the spotlight this season, it’s the brooch. Not the stiff, stuffy kind you might associate with vintage suits—but bold, sculptural pieces that feel more like wearable art.
I’ve been collecting brooch inspiration like crazy (see below!)—from surrealist gold drops to abstract shapes and even a hand-shaped pin that gives major Schiaparelli energy. I love the way these pieces are styled in unexpected ways: on a blazer pocket, pinned at the collar of a crisp white shirt, or clustered on a wool coat for a little street-style drama. Even the detail of a brooch at the waistband of trousers or the hem of jeans feels fresh and sculptural.
My favorite thing about brooches is that they give you a chance to tell a story—whether that’s vintage and romantic or modern and bold. They’re also super versatile. You can use them to cinch a scarf, dress up a tote bag, or revive a plain sweater you’re bored of.
Below, I’m sharing some of my favorite styling inspo, plus a few brooches I’m eyeing. Whether you go glam, kitschy, or classic, it's one of those accessories that feels truly personal—and that’s what style is all about.

Bags
When I say I’m investing in accessories this season, I really mean bags that make a statement. The louder, the better. Think textures you want to reach out and touch—fringe, beading, embroidery, metallics, fur, you name it. A statement bag can carry your whole look (literally and figuratively).
The key? Let the bag be the moment. I love the contrast of bold accessories with an otherwise simple outfit—like pairing a studded shoulder bag with jeans and a tee, or throwing a beaded mini bag over a knit dress for an instant upgrade. These kinds of accessories don’t just add on to a look, they create one.
Texture is what I’m especially drawn to this season. Suede, raffia, sequins, wooden beads—they add depth and make your look feel richer, even if you’re wearing the simplest base. Below are some of the statement styles that have caught my eye.
Beads, Bangles, Bracelets & Rings
When it comes to jewelry, more really is more. This season, I’m stacking with intention—and zero restraint. From sculptural bangles to chunky rings, my approach to jewelry right now is simple: pile it on.
There’s something so satisfying about mixing textures and shapes—twisted metal, hammered finishes, glossy beads, and oversized stones. I love how layered jewelry makes even the most basic outfit feel styled. It’s the kind of excess that reads as confident, not chaotic.
Bold accessories don’t have to feel overdone—they can actually make everything feel cooler. I love when jewelry looks like it’s been collected over time: a mix of vintage pieces, quirky shapes, and sculptural details that all work together because you made them work together. If you're hesitant, start with just two or three chunky rings and build from there. Or mix delicate pieces with one big moment—like a giant floral ring or a thick bangle. Below are some of my favorite styling references, plus links to pieces I’m loving right now.
At the end of the day, accessorizing is where personal style really shines. It’s not about following rules or keeping things “balanced”—it’s about experimenting, layering, and letting your pieces tell a story. Whether it's a fringe bag, a sculptural brooch, or a handful of gold rings, these little details are what make an outfit feel yours. This season, I’m embracing the joy of excessive accessorization—and honestly, I don’t think I’m going back. So go ahead, pile it on. More really can be more.
